We've tried and tried to get Simon to crawl. We've sat out of his reach and tried to get him to come to us, but he just sits there and cries. We've tried putting cheerios on a napkin on the floor out of his reach, but he just doesn't care. But we finally found something that works...
He has these blocks that are different shapes and colors, and if we stack them up, he must knock them down. He doesn't laugh or smile when he does it either, it's just like a compulsion or something. So we started stacking them up out of his reach and he started crawling over to knock them down. Well, I use the term "crawl" loosely. See for yourself!

that is so weird. what if he, like nella, never learns to crawl any other way? could you imagine him doing that up and down the floor someday soon? hilarious. i'm sure he'll figure it out though - he's a bright kid.
