We're back from the ER and the boys are in bed and fine.
What? The ER? Yup.
Early this evening I found Simon having a seizure on the floor in his room. I called 911 and as I was talking to the operator he stopped seizing and fell asleep in my arms. The ambulance came (right after Chase got home from a day trip for work) and took Simon and me to the ER. Thankfully some friends came over to watch Jonas so Chase could meet us at the hospital.
The diagnosis is a febrile seizure which is caused by a high fever and is common in 1-2 year-olds. And since Simon's had the shakes/light convulsions from high fevers before, the ER doc suspects he's just more prone to them. So we've just got to keep his fever down and follow up with his pediatrician in a few days.
