Jonas the One-Year-Old
Jonas! You're one year old today! I can hardly believe it's been a year since you came out into the world.
You're massive. You wear size 24 month clothes for the most part. I suspect your massiveness is why you're not walking yet, but you are standing... and climbing! Boy, you are a daredevil! You climb folded chairs like ladders, you climb onto the couch and into Simon's bed, and you climb the tiny furniture and then stand up in it! When you climb down, 90% of the time it's head-first, but the face-plants don't usually phase you (unless you're sleepy).
You love to eat. You'll eat anything except peach cobbler. You like to eat dirt, grass, wood chips, possibly poisonous berries, and basically anything you can get to your mouth before I take it away from you. Whenever I give you milk in a bottle, you usually prefer a sippy; and whenever I give milk to you in a sippy, you usually prefer a bottle.
Boxes are a new favorite for you. You like to be in and on them, and you like to destroy them, too. You especially like to cause Simon great distress by getting in his way when he's trying to "close the doors" on them. Really, your favorite toy is whatever Simon is playing with at the moment. But you do really like balls and trucks. You recently started making noises for the trucks when you play!
You love your brother. One of your favorite things to do is lounge on Simon even though he doesn't usually like it. You especially love to climb into his bed after nap and snuggle him which usually gets him fussy.
You're pretty good about going down for naps and bed. You love to snuggle blankies and it's super cute.
You are getting pretty silly. You do what I call your battle cry every time you knock blocks down. You also have what I call your dragon voice. You love to dance and you sometimes sing "Mama" to the tune of the Blue Danube waltz by Strauss.
Jonas, you're such a big boy, but you'll always be my (giant) little baby... even when you're 30! I love you and am so excited that I get to be your mommy!
