My Hero

This morning I got up early and met Keli for a brisk walk for some exercise. We went to this semi-ritzy neighborhood and pointed out the houses we liked as we passed them. I walked back home and was doing some leg lifts and such when I noticed a giant wasp. (Well, I guess wasps are all approximately the same size, but they’re giant to me.) He must have gotten in when I opened the door. He was flying around the fan and kept getting hit by it. I was convinced that this was making him angry and he was going to come after me and sting me whenever he got me in his sights. (I have a pretty bad phobia of being injected or stung. Plus, I have really bad reactions from insect and spider bites and stings.) I got up and scurried into the kitchen. Then Chase came to my rescue! He turned off the fan, grabbed a newspaper and started swatting at the wasp. Chase eventually got him to go out the door. I called Chase my hero, gave him a hug and got ready for work. The Abner trailer is safe once again.

It really wasn't as valiant as Alisha makes it seem. I was swinging like crazy and kept missing the wasp. It was only by providence that the thing flew close enough to the door to be shooed out.

But I'll be your hero.

I am a man who would fight for your honor
I'll be the hero you're dreaming of
We'll live forever knowing together
That we did it all for the glory of love.

Niiiiiiiiiice.

What about Mariah? "A hero lies in you."

Chase isn't your LC name "Hero"? You lived up to it. Be proud.

That's what husbands are for! Jordan did the same thing with a horsefly the other day. I kept running into a different room and shutting the door behind me so the thing wouldn't get me. One broken blind later...and no more horsefly :)
