Mad Lib

Remember Mad Libs? I sure do. Those are those stories with random nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, numbers, and occasional body parts taken out and replaced with blanks. The reader must fill in the blanks before reading the story. Miranda and I loved doing them when we were little. Our favorite noun was probably toilet and our exclamations usually involved poop. I’ve decided to make my day at work a Mad Lib for you to fill in.

ALISHA'S DAY AT WORK

This morning I got into my (NOUN)_________ and left for my job at the (PLACE)_________. I was (NUMBER)_________ minutes late, but that’s not too bad considering I have to (VERB)_________ (NUMBER)_________ minutes to get to work. I walked in the (NOUN) and my boss said, “(EXCLAMATION)________________.”

Things seemed to be just (ADJECTIVE)_________, and I was checking the (NOUN)_________ when (PERSON)_________ came into my office to (VERB)_________ me some (NOUN)_________ to do. Nothing too (ADJECTIVE)_________ happened before lunch.

At lunchtime I had some leftover (NOUN)_________ that Chase and I had last night. It was still pretty (ADJECTIVE)_________. I had to go back to the (PLACE)_________ to operate the (NOUN)_________ during the noon-hour. That’s when things got (ADJECTIVE)_________. One of the programs got hung up and the (NOUN)_________ wouldn’t play anything. I had to pop in a (NOUN)_________ and broadcast from the (SAME NOUN)_________-player and go get my boss. He came back and couldn’t figure out what was (ADJECTIVE)_________ with the (NOUN)_________, so we continued to broadcast from the player while we rebooted.

After the reboot, things worked just (ADJECTIVE)_________. I went on to do some other (NOUN)_________ for a while. Now I am (VERB ENDING IN -ING)_________ here making this (NOUN)_________ in hopes that some (PLURAL NOUN)_________ are entertained for a short while. All in all, this day has been pretty (ADJECTIVE)_________ so far. Hopefully I’ll get to play some (GAME)_________ with (NAME)_________ tonight while Chase is (VERB)_________ with (NAME)_________ for praise band for church on Sunday.

And there you have it, my Mad Lib. Feel free to insert your own words and post the story as a comment (or not). Or make up your own! I’m sure it’ll turn out more interesting than what actually happened (unless, that is, something really crazy goes on).

It's Friday and slow, so my office mate and I did your mad lib. And it was definitely mad lib.
You were playing Trouble with Ralph Macchio while Chase was kissing with Heath Ledger for praise band for church on Sunday.

We want another for next Friday.
