Nine Months

Simon has now been out of the womb as long as he was in...

...but that womb is vacant no longer...

...already his little brother or sister is moving in!

Simey Stats

Si had his 9 month checkup today and he is:

29 inches tall (54th percentile)
20 lbs. 4 oz. (49th percentile)
and all kinds of awesome (100th percentile)

It was pretty warm today, so we decided to take a walk.

Si brought his (stuffed) iguana.

The Sime Sime

Sometimes I refer to Simon as "The Sime Sime" as in Today I took The Sime Sime to Walmarts. (Yes, I know there is no "s" in Walmarts, but a while ago I decided I was going to refer to it that way like a lot of old people do.)

Just look at him sitting in the cart like a big boy!

This is during a cuteness freak-out. He may look upset, but I promise he was squinting and squealing with laughter .

We had a pretty good trip with only a little fussing. He did lose a shoe but I noticed pretty quickly and was able to recover it.

The Sime Sime sometimes has strange sleeping positions. It's true, he does. If we're out I'll just have him nap in his car seat...

...but since finding him like this in Chase's office yesterday, I don't think I'll be doing that anymore!

I took all these pictures of The Sime Sime with my phone, and now here's a video from my phone, too:

Not About the Baby

So here's a post that's not about Simon...

What? I have something to type about that's not about my baby? Yeah, crazy, huh?

I'll just get right down to it: I'm starting a design business. It will mostly be card-type things such as birth announcements, invitations, Christmas cards, thank you cards, and pretty much anything else I can think of or someone would commission me to do (I wouldn't be opposed to doing posters or t-shirts). I've been in contact with a local printing company to get an idea about pricing and such and it's looking like this can actually be made into a reality!

Once I do a little more research and decide what kind of paper to use and such, I'm going to set up a simple web site and an Etsy store. In the meantime, I've started working on sample templates... ok, really I've just made one mediocre design, but hey, it's a start!

I'm planning on selling "print-your-own" files (if that be your fancy) as well as the actual cards (both single sided and folded).

So there you have it! I'll be sure to post a link once I get things up and running. Remember me when you're looking for wedding and baby shower invitations... and next fall when you're getting Christmas cards! Now have some babies so I can do your birth announcements!

A Very Simon Christmas (Part 3)

On Christmas Day we traveled to Chase's parents' where Simon had more family to see and more presents to open. Once again, his favorite part was the ribbons and bows.

Ribbons were promptly put in Si's mouth.

Si in front of Pam & Randall's very beautiful and very real Christmas tree (with the ribbon still in his mouth)

Si and his Papaw are buddies. They had a great time together.

We were gone for over a week, but Si got to see all his grandparents, great grandparents, aunts, uncles and funkles. He should be good to go on clothes for a while and has plenty of toys to keep him busy. Even though it was a noisy trip and he sometimes had a rough time sleeping, I'd say Simon really enjoyed himself and all the attention he got.
