New Simon Pics

Our interweb has been down the last couple days (boo!) but is up and working now (yay). But on to more important things- cute pictures of our son:

Si Uses iChat

Our baby is so smart he's already using iChat to talk to Chase at work. Here's a video (just watch his concentration as he selects which keys to press):

And here is some of his chat:

He even figured out how to make an omega! I mean, I don't even know how to do that!

Always on the Radio

Be it with Matchbox 20 or solo, Rob Thomas is always on the radio. Chase first pointed this out to me several months ago and I then estimated that in 90% of car trips, if you scan the airwaves, you will find Rob Thomas on the radio... at least on our local stations.

But why? I don't think I've ever encountered a Rob Thomas or Matchbox 20 fan. I mean, most people are somewhere between indifferent and sort of liking him/them, but I've never met anyone who would say that they're the best band ever, call them their favorite band or singer, or even say, "Yeah, Rob Thomas is pretty awesome." It's mostly, "Yeah, Matchbox 20 is alright," or "Who's Rob Thomas? Oh, yeah that guy who sang that one song that was always on the radio in the mid-to-late '90s... and that other song with Santana."

Of course, I've also never encountered anyone who absolutely hates Rob Thomas or Matchbox 20 either. So maybe that's why he's always on the radio... He has a pretty distinct and easily recognizable voice that no one absolutely loves or hates.

I'm curious, is Rob Thomas always on the radio where you live?

Fists, Small Children and a Weird Creature

Some of Simon's new favorites:

1. His own fist
Si has been known to make fists and stick his arms straight out. Lately he's been watching his fist (the left in particular) with great concentration and will start opening his mouth as if he was trying to eat it. Then the fist slowly comes towards his mouth often ending up at his cheek or under his bib. The times his fist winds up in his mouth are super cute, but of course he promptly stops whenever we get the video camera out.

2. Small children
There's a little girl at church named Taylor who I babysat and Si loves her. He lets her poke and prod him as well as restrain his arms or legs without fussing as long as she's talking to him. He was being pretty fussy yesterday morning at church but when this 3-year-old came up and started talking to him, his whole demeanor immediately changed. Last night he also enjoyed the company of one 2-year-old Bekah.

**Edit**
3. Put Me in the Zoo
Simon loves this book. He got super excited as I read it to him today and laughed pretty hard. We have the smaller, shorter version, not the full one, though.

Champion of All Babies

We had a busy week and a half ending in the wedding of Chase's cousin Krista. The above picture is Simon with Daddy at the reception. Si had a lollipop at his place setting and wanted his picture taken with it and his daddy... he told me so.

Simon had his two month check-up yesterday and he's the champion of all babies weighing in at 13 lbs. 3 oz. with a length of 23 in. putting him in the 90th percentile for weight and the 75th for length. Baby Si only cried for a minute with his shots. Now here are some pictures of the champ:

Check out that mountainous belly!
