Interweb (No Baby Yet)

Hooray! We have interweb at our new place! But alas, no baby yet... Here are a couple pictures of R2's room to tide you over until he makes his big appearance:

Here you see R2's crib (which will later convert into a toddler bed and then a full-sized bed) with some awesome animal bedding that Chase picked out. (Thanks to my parents for buying both!) That thing hanging on the wall is really a window valance, but I just tacked it to the wall.

And here is the other half of the room. The animals on the wall come off and are reusable. R2's chest is filled with clothes and such that should last him a good 6-9 months. He has LOTS of clothes. (A major benefit to finding out the gender before your baby is born: you get lots of baby clothes!)

R2 also has a nice view from his window. There are some trees and animals that come into the back yard. Behind that is a big field and then a nursing home. I like to imagine that in the summertime we'll be able to look out the window and see the old folks roaming about in the field... Okay, maybe not because that would mean they escaped from the nursing home, but it's still a fun thing to imagine...

Quick Post

No baby yet.  It's still anytime...

We've been living at our new place for a week now.  We have a lot unpacked, but there's still quite a bit to go.  People have been asking, "Is the baby's room ready?" for about three months now, and I think I can finally say, "Yup."

I'm not working anymore (for now) and am trying to rest up and get stuff put away.  I do have some bad news though; the wasps have found me at our new place and started taunting me again today...

Anytime Now...

Baby R2 is three weeks away from his due date but is considered a full-term baby now that he's 37 weeks (tomorrow). Without divulging the specifics of my lady business, my doc says Baby R2 will come anytime now.

In other news, this past weekend we moved across town. Thanks to some awesome friends, we got all packed, moved, and somewhat unpacked all in one weekend. We were planning on waiting until the end of the month, but R2's impending arrival sped things up a bit.

Gas Station Gourmet

I came across a blog this morning titled Gas Station Gourmet. This blogger is in a band, eats weird gas station food while on the road and then writes about it with encouragement from her bandmates. Her first entry explains a little more.

Less than Four...

I'm four weeks away from my due date, but this morning my doc said I won't last that long. So tonight I'm washing baby clothes.

Wasp Gang: The Sequel

The wasps are back and out to get me... again. Not thinking, I left my windows down when I went home for lunch. When I opened my car door to head back to work, one flew right at me from inside the car! I squealed (of course), then it just sort of hovered around my door. I'm sure it was teasing me because I could almost hear it laughing. Just as I was about to swing my bag at it and run/cry, it flew away. Surely it went to plot revenge or at least report to the rest of the wasp gang. Since there was only one (as far as I could tell), it must have been a spy. The gang of wasps will probably try to eat my baby now that they know I'm pregnant.

Wasps, if you're reading this, you've got less than three weeks for your attack, then you'll have to find someone else to torment because we're moving.
