Project #1: Read the Bible in a Year. I found a plan online to read the Bible chronologically in a year. Usually I just read a chapter or 2 a night (unless I'm reading a book with 4 or so chapters, then I'll go ahead and read the whole book). This plan has me reading between 3 and 6 chapters a day. So I printed out the plan and hopefully by this time next year, I'll have read the whole thing in order. (Er, at least what some web site says is the order.)
Project #2: Shower Curtain. Since we now have 2 full bathrooms, I've decided that I'd rather make a shower curtain than buy one. Total cost of material was just under $6.00 (material + ribbon for trim) not counting the vinyl liner. It'll be cheaper, what I want and hand-made! I'm using either ribbon or leftover material instead of rings, too. I feel all domestic!

Free Software Isn't Always Good Software
Bad news: I want to throw my computer out the window. Stinkin' DVD burning software keeps locking up! Grrrrrrrr!
Good news: I figured out how to play the beginning of the 1812 Overture on my glockenspeil.
We just might get a Mac.

Trailer Chic
The glockenspeil came in the other day. It's pretty fun. I think so far Chase has played it more than I have.
Yesterday Keli came over and took some great pictures of Chase & me being all trailer-fabulous. Here's a taste (click them to see larger):

Maybe one of these will show up in your mailbox in Christmas card form come December... Oh, and I cut Chase's hair into a mohawk just for these pictures. I wanted him to keep it, but he had me shave it off after the pics.
Chase left today to go work at Super Summer (a week-long youth camp). It's a requirement to work (or go to) the camp for the summer mission trips (a.k.a. Go Teams), but I was able to miss it for my job. I will be going up on Thursday after work to help with whatever needs to be done that evening and so that I can be there for the commishioning Friday morning. I'll miss Chase a lot, but I think I'll be able to keep myself busy with some things I've been working on and reading and hanging out and meeting my mom (and maybe Miranda?) in Paducah for dinner on Tuesday.
Speaking of dinner, it's about that time!

Goings On
There is no real train of thought to this entry.
Funding for our Poland trip is coming along wonderfully. This trip is becoming more real to me and I’m starting to get very excited.
Work is going pretty well. I’ve rediscovered some Photoshop tricks when making graphics for our newsletter and web site. Maybe I’ll post one once it’s finished.
I had a crazy dream last night about playing in a rock band, but I wasn’t playing a regular instrument. I was playing this harp thing with beads on it and was using percussion mallets to play. It sounded pretty awesome.
I’m going to teach a postman how to use Blogger today during my lunch break.
Last night someone was revving their engine over and over and over again from around 10:40 until past midnight. They were doing it again a little before 7:30 this morning. I’d really like to know what makes them think it’s appropriate or even okay to do that at those times. Seriously, I’m not being sarcastic. I’d actually like to know. I can’t seem to come up with any valid reason for it to go on at those times, so maybe someone can help me out here...

Makin' Music
Chase just bought me a sweet glockenspeil so that we can make music together. Plus, we get double points on his credit card for going through Amazon.com. I'm pretty pumped. It should ship in 1-2 business days.

So, this weekend we went to St. Louis to celebrate the 2-year anniversary. More specifically, we went to the City Museum in St. Louis. I would rename it the Museum of Climbing and Crawling on Art. It was pretty fun but would have been more fun if we were 10 (but if we were 10, we wouldn't have been there celebrating our anniversary).
Finally, an update from my last post: the video stuff on my computer is starting to work out. Yippee! Those wedding videos will finally be finished and off my computer!

Motivation Lacking
Right now, I'm really lacking motivation. I'd really like to be out at a lake or beach finishing one of several books I've started, but I'm cooped up in an office. I thought I was gonna have a mini-breakdown yesterday. We finally bought an external drive for our computer so I could finish some wedding videos for some friends. It came yesterday (when it should have been Monday or Tuesday at the latest). I thought all I was going to have to do was render the video, export it and then burn it to DVD. I couldn't finish it before because we lacked the space on our computer. (The editing has been finshed since November or December.) Well, the program still says that there's not enough disk space when I know that there is. Gah! I think the program is just craptastic (it's called ulead something or other). I think I have a later version that came with our DVD burner. Hopefully the update will fix the problem... if not, I think I'll just cry.

Two Whole Years
As of Monday, Chase & I have been married for two whole years! It's pretty spectacular. So, to mark this special occasion, we had some pictures done. I have to tell ya, they turned out wonderfully. I'd recommend this photographer to anyone. It would be a bit much to post them all, so I'll just let you see the one our friend Keli says is her favorite.

Kitties
So this cat has been hanging out on our deck since a few days after we moved in. Chase named it Cleatus, and I find that name to be fitting even though this is a girl cat. Cleatus has a home two lots down where she gets food and water, so this is not our cat and we're not feeding her.Yeah, she's ugly, but it's a cracked-out/charming sort of ugly that I find somewhat appealing. She looks like a cat that would be mean, but she's really sweet. She purrs like crazy whenever we go near her because she know we're going to pet her. I like having Cleatus around.
Cleatus is a momma cat and her baby, whom we call Junior, has just started to come around. Cleatus is super friendly and outgoing, but Junior is a scardey cat. He ran away the first few times I tried to approach him, then he'd just tremble and back away, but now he lets me pet him. He's a pretty soft kitten. Junior has taken to knocking my cactus off the railing(well, I'm assuming it was him since it didn't get knocked down until he started coming around). This last time he broke my pot. When I peeked out the window after he had knocked it down, he looked like he was sitting in a time out.
So, Cleatus and Junior have sort of become our "not quite pets." We get to play with them a bit and have some of their affection without having to take care of them. Pets or "not quite pets" do come with their downfalls, so I guess we won't be putting any more plants on our railing.

Tough Cat
So, I just read this article where a cat chased a bear up a tree. As tough as this cat is, I think Ollie Cat can take him.
